Football News - Legendary Rice Traded to Seattle
Only a physical and the approval from the league can stop the news that broke last night, and although it won't be announced until today, legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice has been shipped north to Seattle. Leaving a bay area team for the first time in his career, Rice is expected to help Seattle's young core of pass-dropping receivers.
Jerry Rice bid farewell to some of his younger teammates on Sunday, signing autographs and even giving away jerseys before leaving.
This move obviously made sense, whereas Rice knows Seattle's style of play, having played under coach Mike Holmgren in previous years in San Francisco. Holmgren reported that the acquisition of Rice has nothing to do with the possible suspension of Koren Robinson.
Robinson, who is leading the league in dropped passes through week 6 of the season, is facing a four game suspension for his third time of violating the substance abuse policy.
