Hot Corner - Dolphins Should "Run Ricky Run" Away from Williams' Excuses

If I was front office personnel of the Miami Dolphins, Ricky Williams would not be allowed back on the team, let alone near it.

I don't want to hear that Ricky has rediscovered his passion for football, because its just another sad excuse. He's realized that he wants the benjamins and to pay off the bills.

Who does he think he is trying to pull his "for the love of the game" excuse to come back in the NFL. Williams abandoned his team, and it shouldn't be overlooked. Week in and week out, teams go out on the field with everything on the line and they go out to win. Players have to be able to trust their teammates on the field and after all of this crap, who can trust Ricky Williams?

I easily agree with this quote from Sean Salisbury on the Williams situation. "What would you do if you were in an alley fight and your friend turned and ran away? Would you trust him to catch your back? Would you want him by your side afterwards? Of course not! You wouldn't trust him as far as you could throw him."

Williams is a great football player and all, but there is no way he deserves a second chance from the Dolphins. There is not a player on the Dolphins, let alone a fan in Miami that will feel comfortable with him on the roster.

My suggestion for Dolphins GM Rick Spielman is to wait until the offseason, then shop Ricky around. He will still have all the talent and the value, and Spielman could get rid of him to the highest bidder. What the Dolphins need in return is someone with heart who doesn't skip out on the team when the "going get tough."
